Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or case number entered into a sponsored search tool is sent to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies its own result. Carver County Court Docket does not keep a local log of those search terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to this resource may be retained to respond to the message. It is kept within the operating team unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, normal server and analytics systems may receive technical information about the visit, including:
- The internet protocol address associated with the device
- Browser name, version, device type, and operating system
- Pages requested and approximate time spent on them
- The referring site, when one is supplied
- Dates and times of page requests
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small device files that can help measure aggregate traffic and page performance. Analytics services may use them for that purpose. Browser controls can block or remove cookies, though some features may then work differently.
What We Do With This Data
Technical data is used to operate and improve the resource, route an outside search request, diagnose performance problems, understand aggregate readership, and support advertising that may be interest-based.
No Court-Record Data on File
This resource does not host, compile, maintain, or sell a database of court dockets or personal case records. It publishes general navigation for Carver County District Court records, Court Administration, and MCRO. It is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not assembled into reports about other people.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes appearing on some pages. Information submitted there is governed by the provider's own privacy practices, retention rules, and sharing decisions. Review the provider's policy before entering a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Judicial Branch pages, Carver County contacts, MCRO, legal resources, or third-party services. A different website's privacy policy controls after the link is selected. Read that policy before sharing personal details there.
Some advertising providers may track activity across websites for ad delivery. That activity occurs within their systems, not within this resource's court-record guidance.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be received by:
- Search providers that process a submitted query
- Analytics vendors used for traffic and performance measurement
- Advertising networks that serve advertisements on the pages
- Government bodies when a valid legal demand requires disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security practices are used for the limited information collected. No internet service can promise complete security, and an unauthorized access event cannot be ruled out.
Users Under 18
This resource is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. Contact the operator if a minor's information appears to have been provided so the issue can be addressed.
Your Data Rights
Minnesota's Government Data Practices Act, Minn. Stat. § 13.01, supplies the state framework for government data. Judiciary data is directed by Minn. Stat. § 13.90 to the Minnesota Judicial Branch Public Access Rules. Those rules govern official court records, not a private website's visitor data. You may still ask the operator to:
- Request a copy of personal information held about you
- Ask that inaccurate information be corrected
- Request deletion where retention is not required
- Decline certain forms of processing when available
Updates to This Policy
This policy may change as operating practices change. A revised version will appear here with an updated effective date.
